I love WWI/WWII movies though. So I am pretty biased. It is loosely based on true events. Battle of Stalingrad obviously. The Russian sniper was a real person. So was Vassili. The German sniper was fictional IIRC.
Well I too love WW2 movies , but there is certain cheapness about everything
Acting is alright I guess, effects also not the best still it doesn't really bother me.
I found they could have done a better job how they layout the story, for example how German sniper found Vassili when he came to hunt him, everything looked just straight forward so it lacked drama for my liking.
For this to have 7.7 IMDB rating when 'Saving private ryan ' to have 8.6 is beyond me.
I expected more from it's rating.
My rating will be 6.0-6.5/10
ps- there is this another thing but this shouldn't be a reason down rate the move so I'm mentioning here.
I found it a bit annoying to see both German and Soviet solders speaking in all kinds of accents. there were times people from two sides talking in British accent and it kinda got confusing to figure out which side they belong even. I would have liked some consistency in accents they used.
