superhero movies are just a subset of the movie industry as a whole. besides most of them are entertaining, which the entire point of movies..

think of the sheer number of brilliant actors walking around these days .. its just not true.
Sorry I didn't mean about acting, but definitely the number of good quality drama movies have dropped. I'm talking about Hollywood movies obviously.
Just think about the iconic quality movies of 90s and maybe early 2000s, and compare that to post 2010, ton of superhero movies and sequel movies are killing the industry. Those are cash cows, and so even good movies are wasted because of that. A prime example is Hobbit, such an iconic great story, and could have been amazing if they did it in one 3.5h movie, but instead tried to milk it into 3 movies and ended up being shite.
