Whats' his SL salary if he was to continue to play for SL ? $50K Retainer and $30K in match fees? CPL can't pay more than $50K. IPL cycle is 3 years no ? But I think teams can drop a player before the season, he makes $100K with IPL. Don't think it is worth for him if he isn't retained by IPL team going forward. Also, he is only valuable if he plays for his national team, he doesn't have the reputation like some others to continue to get picked without playing for the national team. Right now as he stands he is to be paid $100K IPL + $80K (rough estimate)from SL. Do CPL teams have a spot for him ? I just don't know if the risk he is taking is worth it. He planned this before the series, so he wouldn't have known that he was going to flop.
lol do u think CPL is the only league he'll play?
He will play BPL, PSL, T10.
Enough and more opportunities for Udana.
IPL is not the only lucrative league out there.
But they are not guaranteed though? What's the chance that PSL will pick him ? How much does BPL and T10 pay ? And again these aren't sure contracts. You know how these T20 leagues work right ? If someone isn't form unless they are well touted, they aren't going to choose him. With SLC, he still gets to be in the lime light and show off his performance. I feel like his taking huge risk retiring and relying on these T20 leagues that he hasn't really earned his reputation with.
