Thushara yet to deliver on international matches.
What a bad idea to play both Thushara and Pathirana in the same match.
Some people asked to drop Nishshanka from T20s. He should play all 3 formats
Nishshanka is on a purple patch right now; he looks great when he's on such a good form.
He was struggling big time in T20s. There's nothing wrong with asking him to be replaced when he was not delivering.

There is something wrong with it. You don't easily drop a player who has played match winning knocks before. Especially when you're a team like SL who struggle with finding talent.

I'm not talking about any player in particular, but in general, there is absolutely nothing with dropping players when they are below par for a period. This is what top teams do and that's why they stay on top by maintaining high standards and proper selection policies most of the time. This is exactly what you want to happen if you want to be the best.
But yeah, it might look like a negative thing for SL because we have become beggars when it comes to batting talent.

In general I agree with you. But as you say, SL is not a top team. There is not enough bench strength to be chopping and changing all the time.
Also in Nissanka's case it was just wrong to drop him when you had players like DDS and Sadeera in the XI. I think any top team would have persisted with Nissanka as well.

If you're talking about the same level of performance (like SR 115) in a top team, then definitely no. They don't keep players like that around till they improve because they have plenty of guys who can come in and go at SR 130+.
I guess all this talk about Nissanka, Shanaka has to be made and understood in a SL context because we don't have any or only a couple of batsmen who can constantly score at a SR of over 130. Other countries can afford to bench batsmen who have relatively poor strike rates because their bench strength is strong.
