I mean didn't Ruvindu Gunasekara from Canada top the all rounder list like 2 seasons ago ? Didn't someone say the average age of the SL FC system is 25 or something ? I know the format is different but I was trying to say how can we expect them to do well in the most difficult format(Test) at international stage if they can't even average 35+ in the local SL List A which isn't supposed to be hard consdiering the talent diluation.
We've always had 12+ teams playing FC. It's been crap for a long time.
It's a matter of different challenges the two formats present. You must score at a certain rate in LO which means they should have good enough strokeplay. When they can't execute those release shots they get out, hence the lower average. Some players who can't be successful in LO can still be decent in Tests if they can keep good deliveries out and bat sensibly. Chandimal is a case in point.
Yes but why is there no balance ? There are only very few players touching the 35+ average in List A. Like you can count with your fingers. That is my issue.
