Colts skipper Dilruwan Perera passed the magical milestone of completing 700 wickets and 7000 runs in first class cricket and was instrumental in leading Colts to their first win of the season when they beat Saracens by 227 runs in their SLC Premier league Tier A encounter concluded at Colts yesterday.
Perera who made 52 in the second innings helped Colts to score 277 and set Saracens a target of 372 to win. He then reached the milestone of completing 700 wickets in first class cricket. He achieved this when he recorded his 36th five wicket haul to become the only player in SL history to reach this milestone.
Perera (35) who is the premier off spinner of the SL Test team was given a guard of honour after this achievement.
