^^^ yes.
Missed Chandi's knock. Woke up and decided to sleep for couple more hours when i saw Chandi and Shehan J batting. After all it was a Saturday morning.
Second half was very disappointing after 3rd wicket of Sadeera fell, other than Chameera and TP towards end getting some seam moment off the track.
Chameera looked lot more energized than in last two games he played. Didn't play last game or two, may be had a niggle or two. But looked very lively yesterday. Running in swiftly and getting better and better in rhythm. To Top it off got Dimuth chopping on, one of his trademark wicket-taking delivery.
Sad Sam came down and launched a one over mid wicket for six, very good striking against pace, although that wasn't his fastest or bounciest deliveries. Good captaincy shown by captain helped getting Sadeera out. After that six, chandi put another guy behind square and let Chameera flourish it even shorter, prollly something they noticed in Sadeera's batting. As i mention in my last post about Sadeera in "young batting talent" thread, he likes to take on short ball and sometimes go too hard at it, also seems to try and play every ball, which is not the way to go. Colombo capitalized on that and Chameera's pace to made him top edge an one soon. Well done to Captain Bowler combo.
At the end Chameera was hit for few by Akila Dhananjaya, but field was in and he was trying to bounce and York him. Also Akila can bat, hit Pradeep and Lakmal over mid on, mid off in last couple of games too. Fair enough for me. All in all Chameera has shown very good signs. If he can develop
At this rate, i ll take him to England and gonna keep him as a stand by with squad.
Also saw more upright action from Chameera now, way more steady at the crease. Prolly release point has got higher as well. Will help with seam position as well. May be this change of action is why it took some time to get his pace back. Anyway, this is better. Hope he ll get lot of time with Allan Donald, both have similar attributes in bowling and similar kind of actions.
TP was all over it like usually until he got Chathuranga off a long hope, trying to clear short midwicket while coming down the track. But got his shit together and bowled well since, got nice seam moment he used to get, and got it to seam both ways. TP's issue is that he forgets his strengths when he gets hit couple of times. If he is taking wickets and in form, he ll give you couple of good spells. More like part timer these days. Confidence player. Need to get better of emotions. He did it in batting, hopefully he ll learn that with ball in hand too.
