Indika Saram 304 for St Thomas, Matara in a U19 school match.
Indika de Saram of St. Thomas College Matara was the first batsman to score a triple century in under-19 schools cricket. His marathon innings of 304 contained 19 fours and 25 sixes and came off in 149 balls against Sri Devananda MV Ambalangoda at Matara in February 1993.
Dhammika Vaas Gunawardana hit a massive 310 for Maris Stella College against St. Peter’s College Negombo in February 1997. He hoisted 14 sixes and 36 boundaries for his knock.
Two junior cricketers Manoj Perera of Science College Mt. Lavinia and Rehan de Silva of P de S Kularatne MV Ambalangoda also made triple centuries. Manoj made an unbeaten 318 against Arethusa College in an under-13 match in 2001-02 season. Rehan scored 309 against Dharmasoka ‘B’ at Ambalangoda in an under-12 match in 2003-04 season.
In February 2009 Michael Vanhoff of St. Thomas College Kotte established a new school cricket record by scoring an all time high of 356 against Lalith Athulathmudali MV Mt. Lavinia at Kotte. His 265-ball inning had contained 35 sixes and 20 fours including six sixes in one over.
Before those triple tons, highest innings in under 19 cricket belonged to St. Anthony's Kandy Cricketer Jack Anderson. He scored 291 against St. Thomas. That was the highest innings in any kind of format till 1950s including Mercantile cricket.
