It is a huge problem. I mean at home we are not reliant on quicks so the captain would ideally want to use them in spells of 4-5 short bursts and have them give a full blast when needed. Case in point, India uses their quicks like this with Shami and Bumrah (although Bumrah can dig in for longer spells). But their captians use get them in for bursts to break open things or to have them go full tilt for 4 overs. At times they might use a bouncer barrage to shake up the batters etc. But our guys cannot last the first day of a test.
I honestly don't know what the issue is.
Our solution to this is to retire quick bowlers from tests and ask them to focus on LOI. LMAO.
India can afford to use their quicks in short spells because they have few good spinners to fall back on. We don't have that luxury either unless we are playing at home. Even then some overseas spinners have done better than ours in recent times. Who can be our spearhead now that Lakmal is gone and Chameera restricted to white ball cricket. Others in the system haven't got enough exposure and have been prone to injury.
