Cos he looks like a genuine seam bowler with lot of potential. He hasn't performed up to his mark.

With proper guidance I believe he's someone who can prosper. I hope he gets suitable conditions for pacers at the domestic level, which almost never happens in SL

He has been playing FC cricket for the last 5 years and always been one of the fringe players but haven't been able to breakthrough to the national team on a regular basis. His domestic stats are not bad, averaging early to mid 20s in all three formats.

He looked better than Kumara when they bowled together in the U19 WC. Was disappointing when he actually started playing for SL. Looked a bit fatter and slower.

Asitha Fernando was the highest wicket taker for SL in that U19 WC in 2016 but he has not been able to secure a place in the national team despite good stats in domestic cricket. He is way down in the pecking order at present.
