Happy to see BR score runs. If he is able to maintain a decent form he is an excellent choice to bat at 3 in both formats. Runs need to come at a clip as runs are coming fast and quick these days. KJP, I think is very good at 4 as he has the shots and riates well. I like the fact the fact Avishka is thinking of batting long. Need to give Asalanka a run at 5. The seniors on strike for some arrogance have batted themselves out as the youngsters will grab spots.

Good to see a win. If not for some selection and mistakes in game too, we could have won series 2-1
Unfair to judge Kasun as he was undercooked and out of com poo etitive cricket fir long time Dasun and Chamika showed what line and length can do After those 3 ball fours, Akila bowled quite well. I had written him off. Praveen should be 2nd choice spinner after Wanindu 07-24-2021, 12:52 PM
I didn't watch pretty much India's inning. Just saw highlights, Praveen Jayawickrama should be a regular spinner. Despite Akila's performance, he has to go. I think the spin department needs another bowler with good potential. Off spin won't work when the pitch isn't turning. I'd suggest Praveen, Hasaranga and some other newer guy who turns it away, another SLA or a Leggie. I guess you can keep Sandakan for now and see how he goes, but he needs to show more results.
I'd also think about dropping DDS, his batting is poor. He looks good because of his technique and gets away with it because of his bowling. Going forward Avishka Danuska(Can get rid of this fool and have another pacer or spinner depending on the condition) KJP BR Asalanka Shanaka Karunaratne(not sure how long the party will last) Hasaranga Kuamara/Binura Chameera Praveen 07-24-2021, 12:54 PM

Inexperienced Sri Lanka's chance to size themselves up July 24 2021 Captain Dasun Shanaka and Isuru Udana are the only two members of the Sri Lanka squad to have featured in more than 100 T20 games. Dasun Shanaka will look back at the last week with mixed feelings. After a meek surrender in the first ODI, his team grew into the series, went through an emotional rollercoaster, and eventually registered their first precious points in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League. It perhaps erased the worry lines on Mickey Arthur's forehead, and brought an overall sense of relief. The three T20I fixtures could give a fair idea of where Sri Lanka stand in the format and what it means for their chances of getting to the Super 12s in the T20 WC in three months' time. There was very little in the England series in June to suggest that Sri Lanka have a fight in them but Friday's win, albeit in a different format, should give them a semblance of belief heading into the T20I series. But the competition is about to intensify. There are many in the Indian squad who haven't played a T20I before, and yet come with a lot of T20 miles in their tank. To put it in perspective, the average T20 experience in the Sri Lankan squad is 49 games - a dwarf in comparison to India's 120. Isuru Udana - the only Sri Lankan player in the squad who has featured in more than two T20 leagues in the last 4 years - has played the most number of T20s (165). But, as many as seven players in the Indian contingent have featured in more. For India, it could be the time for some of the fringe players to perform and throw their hat into the World Cup ring, starting with the captain Shikhar Dhawan, who admitted as much. When: Sri Lanka vs India, 1st T20I, July 25, 2021, 08:00 PM IST Where: R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo What to expect: Rain briefly intervened in the final ODI and is expected to make its presence felt on Sunday too in the form of evening showers. The 8 pm start is sure to bring dew into the picture. The venue in Colombo has a near equal win record for teams batting first and second (17 wins to 18 in 36 fixtures). Team News: India:"We will field our best team," Shikhar Dhawan said on the eve, effectively ruling out too many debuts early in the T20I series. He went on to say that they'd consider 'experimentation' if they seal the series in the first two fixtures. This means the only real toss up could be for the second leg spinner option, between Kuldeep Yadav and Rahul Chahar. Probable XI: Shikhar Dhawan ©, Prithvi Shaw, Ishan Kishan (wk), Manish Pandey, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Rahul Chahar/Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal Sri Lanka:Three of the top four that played in England are missing from this series. But the in-form duo of Avishka Fernando and the impressive Bhanuka Rajapaksa, who scored 65 off 56 in his team's win in the third ODI, should still hold Sri Lanka in good stead. Sri Lanka could also hand the 24-year-old Charith Asalanka, who finished the ODI series with 127 runs, his maiden T20I cap. Probable XI: Avishka Fernando, Minod Bhanuka, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Dhananjaya de Silva, Charith Asalanka, Dasun Shanaka, Wanindu Hasaranga, Chamika Karunaratne, Isuru Udana, Akila Dananjaya, Dushmantha Chameera Did you know: - In 17 T20Is since the 50-over World Cup in 2019, Yuzvendra Chahal has 16 wickets. In the same period, Kuldeep Yadav, Krunal Pandya and Rahul Chahar have a combined tally of 10 wickets in 13 outings. - Captain Dasun Shanaka and Isuru Udana are the only two members of the Sri Lanka squad to have featured in more than 100 T20 games. - Shikhar Dhawan has 1519 runs in 41 IPL fixtures since the start of the 2019 season. He hasn't been able to replicate that form for India, as he has just 363 runs in 14 T20Is at an average of 25.92 and strike rate of 117.47 in the same period. What they said: "On a personal note, the series is very important. I am really looking forward to perform here, on a personal level, and making my position stronger for the World Cup contention, and then we'll see how it goes." - India captain Shikhar Dhawan "After the England tour, I worked on my batting and that helped in scoring runs here. We have a very young side and going forward, I believe this young side will do well." - Sri Lanka opener Avishka Fernando Ⓒ Cricbuzz 07-24-2021, 04:03 PM
