This Divided Island is a good read, from Samanth Subramaniam. Deals very well with the Tamil perspective of the war. Really interesting chapters about Prabhakaran in the early days, and how disenchanted the Vanni Tamils was with LTTE through the 2000s. Has major flaws as well. Probably not for MR fanboys though

Dayan Jayatilakes long war cold peace, is a pretty good read..
Also Asoka bandarage's The Separatist Conflict in Sri Lanka: Terrorism, ethnicity, political economy is good, but these look at the ethnic issues primarily |
