I remember a Canadian spinner hit a 90 metre six of Murali in the 2011 WC and it didn't even land in the crowd. If I remember correctly, the initial stadium plan was to accommodate the 2018 Common Wealth games in Hambantota (LOL). The distance between pitch to the stand was 100 Metre and originally the design had two large pavilion beside the main pavilion.
Upon further research the initial design had full seating and canopy all around.
Then it was changed to this.
Namal's plan was to have commonwealth games in that stadium. SL would be bankrupt much earlier if that happened.
