One of the leg spinners that I am closely watching, either Vandersay, Vijayaskanth or Colombage bowled a perfect googly to a left hander and got caught behind. That googly turned well too. I have a short memory, I wanted to mention that here with the specific name of that leggie, but I cannot remember. It is got to be one of these 3 because, I got so excited to see a young leggie turning his googly that well. If a leggie could turn like that both ways, and with some line and length, he will be in business!
Our board must organize more A-team level matches to use this many spinners without letting them disappear. Also, having that 4-day provincial tournament soon, will allow these youngsters to showcase their bowling skills in the longer format.
Vandersay is 8 years older than Colambage and 10 years older than Vijayakanth. The issue is good leg spinners that rip it hard like Vandersay look world class when on synch and look amateur when not in synch. Didn't see much of Colombagae and not much at all when it comes Vijaykanth(just highlights) but both need to be seriously confident. It's not how they look once they pick up the wicket, it's how they do when they get hit for a six or easy frequent doubles that matters.
Remember this guy ? He was 20 and played for Australia in the 2014 T20 WC. He looked like the future leggie of Australia, he has lost his accuracy, confidence and he is now not even playing professional cricket.
