There's a delay of about 12 seconds between the real time action and the telecast you see on TV. Bookies/illegal bettors would send people to the ground so they could send real time ball by ball data. SLC arrested a few some time ago. I noticed two guys at SSC in 2018 who did this. They had 3 or 4 smartphones. They were typing at the end of each delivery. This is illegal betting.
Then there's spot fixing when they get the players involved to bowl wides/no balls or to not score more than a certain number of runs in the first 5/10 deliveries and so on. You get the drill.
How does it help for betting if you know ball by ball real time? what's the difference?
Does people bet on what they see on TV? if so I Can see that making a difference.
