Mahela to join Sky Sports for this series
http://www.island.lk/index.php?page_cat=article-details&page=article-details&code_title=143889 04-20-2016, 04:36 AM
Just out of curiosity,is it a permanent appointement or just for this series? In fact ive seen Holdings being part of this commentry team as well.
Usually this thing confuses me,I remember Ramiz Raja,Sanjay all being part of Ten Sports sometime back, but nowdays Sanjay is not coming to SL unless its an India match, how does this jargon works. How about Rus?Or do they usually invite commentators from foreign countries? Is there a strict Ten Sports commentary panel or does it vary from time to time Kusal Mendis~the almighty, set to return on the 31st Jul 2022

I think Mahela is joining only for this tour
Holding used to be a regular for Sky 04-20-2016, 05:09 AM

Preliminary squad of 20 announced for Tests
A preliminary squad of 20 national players began training at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium yesterday morning in preparation for next month’s cricket tour of England. The squad will travel to Kandy today to continue training at a higher altitude ahead of the tour and will engage in training sessions. It will be followed by a two-day game at the Pallakelle International Cricket Stadium on Saturday and Sunday (April 23 and 24) whilst training sessions will be conducted concurrently at the nets. Despite the rains in Colombo and suburbs, the weather in Kandy has remained favourable in the past weeks, and if long range weather reports are anything to go by, will remain so for the next few days giving the squad an ample opportunity to train. Meanwhile, selection of the Test squad travelling to England is due to be finalized by April 27. Sri Lanka will play a series of three Tests against England before moving on to the one-day format where they will take on England in five One-Day Internationals and in two Twenty20 Internationals. The Test series starts at Headingley, Leeds on May 19 followed by the second Test at Durham from May 27 and the third and final Test at Lord’s from June 9. The Test squad is due to arrive in England on May 4. Angelo Mathews has been named captain and Dinesh Chandimal his deputy for all three formats of the game. The preliminary squad selected consists of the following players: Angelo Mathews (captain), Dasun Chanaka, Dinesh Chandimal (vice-captain), Dhammika Prasad, Dhananjaya de Silva,. Dilruwan Perera, Dimuth Karunaratne, Dushmantha Chameera, Jeffrey Vandersay, Kasun Rajitha, Kaushal Silva, Kusal Mendis, Milinda Siriwardana, Niroshan Dickwella, Nuwan Pradeep, Rangana Herath, Shaminda Eranga, Suranga Lakmal, Tharanga Paranavitana, Vishwa Fernando. http://www.dailynews.lk/?q=2016/04/22/sports/79523 04-21-2016, 09:12 PM

Is this squad for test matches only....looks like it. At last Thirimanne is left out. I guess Kaushal Silva & Paranavithana will fight it out for the No. 3 spot.
There is nothing on this on CI or the SLC website. 04-21-2016, 10:30 PM
England are considering a complete shake-up of their top order which could hand debuts to two batsmen in the first Test against Sri Lanka next month.
Even though the season is still in its infancy it has emerged England already have a firm idea of the team they want to step out at Headingley on May 19 and it could include new Test faces in the form of James Vince and Nick Browne. The sad retirement of James Taylor leaves at least one vacancy in the middle order and the selectors are ready to make more changes to a batting line-up that misfired in South Africa even though England won the series 2-1.
