Sure. Similarly, they can drop the others for not scoring then, because you have to be fair to everyone.

First you suggest guys like Dimuth and Thiri albeit being slow because the others fail often. Now you're saying it's OK to drop the batsman who has been scoring. Cool.

You contradict man. Did Dilshan moved down the order.? What dilshan says is his retirement is wrong. Dilshan thinks he can play forever. If Dilshan plays continuously he is taking a spot of youngster. Did players like Tendulkar, Shewag, Ponting move down the order.? Was Sanath willing to move down the order. When you are best batsmen in the team you get the chance of playing at the top.

Young players should work hard on their games. Then only they can succeed.

Accept the fact they retired at right time without eating places of youngsters.

Didn't this guy score a run a ball 97* two matches ago? And people want him dropped and bring in Thiri because he scored 80 runs at 75SR in some match years ago.

I mean what the hell is RS on about How can Dilshan have anything to do with Mathews stepping down from captaincy or him being dropped from the team just because Dilshan offered to help in any capacity. It's like blaming MR for everything under the sun. Dilshan, at least being honest and brave to admit that he has played a part for the mess we are in today which shows he is genuinely hurt and cares about our cricket.

That said, I dont agree at all with the selectors decision to drop Mathews from the ODI team unless there are grave concerns about his fitness. It says Mathews has demanded to be allowed to take a fitness test. I think it's only fair that opportunity is given to him. It's also on his part to improve his fitness. It's very clear that he has put on some weight and has been sluggish on the field and when running between the wickets.

you two watch matches first properly please. Problem is his fitness and him not taking crucial runs when it matters most.

You guys are simply comparing the final averages of batters, just like how Sanath used to do. And persisted with Mathews, when he was clearly struggling with injuries.

His batting is fine and plays without much support in this shit team. It wasn't long ago he top scored in a rare match we won. It's not the first time in history that someone has run/called poorly. Dropping the most consistent run getter based on that when others are pathetic with bat is stupid.

I didn't post his average. I pointed out that he had only one single digit score in the last 20 innings. That is the ability hang in there and score against international bowlers when others can't even survive, let alone score consistently.

Mathews is not the problem in this team. Idiots who can't score are.
