They came to power with a lot of promise but achieved almost nothing. That is why the majority of people voted against them at the last two elections. This government has actually been in power for only 6 months though the President was elected in November 2019. The President had to work with a opposition who held a majority in parliament which blocked every progressive move the President made during that time. And the whole time this government has been in power had to be spent mainly on the COVID situation. So let's give them time and judge them as time progresses.
Well here we have a prime example where we can judge the government, and they are screwing it royally, but you keep saying it's how things work in SL. perfectly normal.
It's normal by SL standards, that is what I am reiterating.
Government officials work to the political preferences forgetting their job is to serve the people. They screw things up if they are politically inclined against the government, this is a fact we have faced for many decades. That said, I am not saying the government is not to be blamed. They have to take responsibility for the screw ups as well but at the same time you have to understand these are unprecedent times which the world hasn't faced for a very long time, not during our lifetime anyway. We know for a fact that even affluent western countries have screwed up big time on this. These are not excuses but stark facts we have to face and understand.
