Yes there could be drugs, women and match fixing but this is not just an IPL matter, its the world we live in. Get in and enjoy the ride folks and ponder why there are no SL's in the IPL? That is a major indicator on where we are with our cricket.

So you ignore match fixing just because the best players are participating. I guess you can call it a carnival rather than a cricket tournament.

I don't read this thread often, but I open it once in a while when I see people are active here. Funny thing is whenever I open it, all I see is the same argument (every year) about whether this is good or bad rather than the actual cricket played in the league. In that sense this is the most bizarre T20 league thread we have. 54 pages. I'm not sure even 15 of them are about the performance in cricket.

I think only Randa is watching this regularly and he posts about players. My suggestion is to stay away and save your time if you don't like/watch the league instead of going circles about the same thing annually. Then the thread might be useful to people who want to find out about up and coming players or anything important when Randa posts about it since they don't have to go through 10 pages of the same old argument to find such posts.

Are we restricted on what can be discussed on certain threads. Aren't we allowed to criticise the IPeeL?

Well yes! This (match fixing) is not an IPL thing but a cricket issue. Am I right in saying the latest in match fixing issue is the banning of 3 SL's including the great Sanath Jayasuriya? It's been going on for yonks and will do so for years to come. I am not saying it's ok but if we get stuck on that, there is no way forward.

They are just showing the CSK V Sunrises preliminary final last year where SRH got 137 and had CSK 60/7 and down and out before Faf pulled a blinder for a great win. Coaches: Moody V Fleming. Dhoni, Williamson, Watson, Braithwait, Harbajan, etc. etc. What a game and what a finish and what a stack of stars. That is just plain awesome. Was it fixed? Well was the SL v SA game fixed that resulted in a super over. Was the Ind V Aus series fixed for an unlikely Aussie win. I don't know. The point is all this was great cricket to watch.

First of all Sanath Jayasuriya was not banned for match fixing. I am saying the IPL is the most corrupt tournament in cricket. The game comes first for me. I am not OK with it being ignored. What's the purpose of playing a game when you know there is a very good chance of it being fixed. I dont see that as moving forward.

Clearly that's not what I meant if you read my post properly. It's just a suggestion. You know that. I have criticized it myself.

It's just that it has become so repetitive that the league thread is not even about the cricket played in the league. Note that my suggestion comes after 5 seasons of IPL on this forum, not after one season where people kept posting the same thing. Compare this to BBL, CPL, PSL threads. You go there, you find out about cricket. These are cricket leagues. You come here, this thread is losing that aspect of cricket.

I will watch some games, it good for light entertainment. Im concerned about players getting injured during this and missing the world cup. Be it Kohli or Smith. Doesnt matter.
