This is great for SL women who are interested in motor racing.
Hesali Peiris ?? has safely concluded the first round, which is the FIM ASIA Women’s Cup of Circuit Racing.
Race 1: P5 | Race 2: P7
Team Sri Lanka stands in 6th out of 10 countries with 12 points. Hesali showed strong pace throughout her free practice sessions and warm-ups. She also managed to record the fastest timing in her warm-up, clocking 1:47.535 minutes in damp conditions. She secured P5 in the qualifying for Race 1, where she managed to hang on to the same result at the end of Race 1. However, in Race 2, she started in P5 and then dropped to P7 by the end of the race.
This round, they competed on GPX Demon GR200R, and Hesali competed in no.#4 with a grid of 10 female riders. Sri Lanka’s very own Hesali will be flying the flag in all three rounds of the championship. Round 1 is all-women, but the next two will bring the thrill of male + female riders racing together.
The Round 2 will be taking place in Chinese Taipei from the 18th - 19th of October.
