Both deserving players Akash and Muthulan

Both of them played for SL U19 team in their home series against BD U19 few months back.

Must be the first time they are playing a 7-match series in U19. Senior side played a couple of them.

SL U19s lost the first YODI by 12 runs. WI U19 batting first scored 256 in 49.5 overs. They were 108/5 in the 20th over at one stage. Vigneshwaran Akash, leg spinner from Hartley College, Jaffna had excellent figures of 10-1-33-4. SL U19 in their chase were 38/4 at one stage and 113/5 in the 23rd over. Kavija Gamage from Kingswood College, Kandy scored 123 and Trinitian Aadham Hilmy scored 41, put on 112 for the 6th wicket. At that stage, SL U19 were well on their way needing 32 runs off 44 balls when Gamage got out. SL U19 could add only a further 19 runs before being all out for 244 with 10 balls to spare. Lack of consistent partnerships a major worry.

That was a very sorry collapse. Doesn't bode well for the future as the mallis seem to be following the ayyas when it comes to losing from winning situations.

Yeah, collapse at the top as well as the lower order. Could have won it with some sensible batting. Gamage innings was excellent but he got out in a clumsy manner
