Royal lost after sporting declaration I don't think Royal should have declared in the 2nd innings. If St. Thomas is a good team, they should have been made to get Royal all out and then made that chase to win. These U-19 level players, especially in a 3-day match, should be taught to program their mindsets to play test cricket. If the idea is to make sporting declarations and then give the spectators some entertainment, then they should be playing T20 cricket for the Roy-Tho big match instead of 2-inning cricket matches. I think, the discussion is underway to make all other school big matches also a 3-day affair, and that will be a great move to teach our young players to understand how to play long format cricket. The other side of this argument is that, Royal made that 2nd inning declaration in hope of forcing a win by getting St. Thomas all out. Well, again, that was an idiotic call from the Royal think tank. By looking at how well the Thomian batting did in the 1st innings to recover and get a 300+ total, Royal should have realized that their bowling is weak. Note, we are analyzing the game this much, because it is a 3-day, 2-inning match and lot of mindful decisions were needed to be made as opposed to a one-inning, T20 or a One-Day match. 03-09-2025, 10:22 PM
I think the Roy Tho is geared towards trying to get a win.
But do agree that the sporting declaration seems to have been a bit too sporting here Also they do play an ODI too. 03-13-2025, 04:48 AM
Reshon Soloman is just 15. They have taken him from St.Peters College recently. Looks a good prospect. Mainly plays in off side |
