All have emerged in the last 2-3 years.

We have been critical of the system forever but is the system somewhat working ?

Or has SL cricket now tapped into a new rich vein of talent like we did during the golden era.

we had about 3? good u19 sides. 2014, 2022 and there was another one in the middle with charith/kamindu/kumara

I don’t think it’s the system but looks like we’ve been lucky to get some really talented players coming through . The “system “ still has issues. Best example is selecting Milan for the 2nd test and bowling him only for 2 overs so far across 2 innings. It is a small example but can highlight how our selectors / system can screw up things.
On the other hand , these young players are getting more opportunities these days with A team and under 19 team tours and also the NSL. So in a way the system does work to a certain extent.

Are you seriously asking this Mugs. We’ve talked about how it’s dysfunctional for the last 10 years. Could be so much better and more competitive. Facilities also need upgrading. Also not sure whether players have adequate dietetic advice.

yeah nishy pieris is carrying a few extra kilos too by the look of it. I mean given hes a spinner its fine maybe? but you would think stamina would be helped by cutting a little but more
