In England conditions too ? Yikes. I would have preferred just a Prabath and Ramesh as a batting all rounder on dry pitches. But I doubt ECB wants 5 day matches vs SL as they would lose money on playing longer match vs the likes of SL.

If England is going to do Bazball, then Vandersay might not be a bad idea. Not sure if this was the thinking. But it is a very risky one.

We are playing in August/ September, spinners can be effective, especially at the Oval.

Mendis is vice Captain. There is Madushka as opener and for me Pathum is a must. Mathews settled at 4, Chandimal at 5 and De Silva at 6. So where does Mendis fit in? Is he going to keep wickets and 7 or either of Madushka or Pathum sit out?

yeah pathum will end up sitting out the first match somehow. I think madushka is the one who should not play though. He is very suspect.
