Combination of both. Low IQ very much applies to SL team management as well. Gave 60+ T20I caps to Chandimal. They still take guys like DDS and Sadeera to T20 WCs about a decade later. Do they ever learn? Are they even serious about the sport?

Obviously you restrict yourself and concede a percentage of the game even before the first ball is bowled when you take stupid decisions like that. I'm not saying only these two players are responsible. Just pointing out one example of how bad the so called #ThinkTank is.

T20 is about winning little phases and transferring pressure to the opposition. Scoring 8 off 11 after a decent powerplay and forcing Nissanka to attack their best bowler isn't winning a little phase. Some teams crumble (some hit back) when they lose a crucial phase like that. Needless to say SL is a team that crumbles. I've always maintained that SL white ball batting is boring, talentless, minnow level shit.

I just stay away from posting because it’s honestly a waste of time. We’ve just lost the spark to talk about these passionately anymore.

There’s definitely a lot of low cricket IQ. And it starts at school , club level where I don’t think this is explored at all.

Sad thing is even guys who’ve played for the national team and brushed shoulders with past greats seem incapable of learning even in that environment.

Most guys come across as having not much up there other than see ball hit ball. No real deep thinkers in the game.
