Thisara’s innings was very underrated. The momentum had shifted in India’s favour and we were quite vulnerable in the middle order. It could have easily been a repeat of 2012 if it wasn’t for those sixes.

Yuvraj had come back from cancer, was dropped from the ODI team before the T20 WC. Dhoni made error in that final by not promoting himself or Raina who were the designated finishers in that Indian T20I side.

Yes got us India fans excited for few minutes with that fragile SL middle order but Perera ended the contest with those two hits.

I think its obvious Yuvraj is the main culprit. We`re just mentioning that the others were also struggling, indicating that the bowlers were doing really good rather than the batters doing poorly

Exactly my point, don't think any batsman on that night would have been able to score off Malinga & Kulasekara.

It's pretty obvious to anyone who watched the match, the last few overs of the Indian innings was the turning point. Why all the blame on Dhoni when you say, don't think any batsman on that night would have been able to score off Malinga & Kulasekara. Others like Yuvraj and Rahane also struggled. Only Kohli really made a worthwhile contribution. Even Kohli made only 6 runs off 7 balls he faced in the last 4 overs.

Any batsman, I meant even the Aussies, Saffers or the Pakis would have struggled against that bowling.

I watched the game at the crown casino here in Perth. There were a lot of Indians and Sri Lankans and the atmosphere was amazing. I still remember the Indian fans cheering when Yuvraj finally got out . The feeling we had when we finally won was out of this world .
We all similarly watched the 2011 ODI WC final there too but was left very disappointed in the end . So it was great we won this.

I was there at RPS for 2012 final against WI too. I think Dilz got me black market tickets .. paid something like 5k for a Rs 750 ticket . My whole family went for the game . What a disappointment that was ..
