I think SL is the 1st nation to do it without a single batter hitting average 50 and 20 hundreds.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has banned Sri Lanka player Praveen Jayawickrama from all cricket for one year, of which six months are suspended, after he admitted breaching the ICC Anti-Corruption Code.

Jayawickrama admitted to being in breach of the following provision under the Code:

Article 2.4.7 – Obstructing or delaying any investigation that may be carried out by the ACU, including concealing, tampering with or destroying any documentation or other information that may be relevant to that investigation and/or that may be evidence or may lead to the discovery of evidence of corrupt conduct under the Anti-Corruption Code.

As a result of the admission, Jayawickrama has accepted a sanction of a one-year period of ineligibility, of which the last six months are suspended.

The charges relate to international cricket and the Lanka Premier League. The ICC, in agreement with Sri Lanka Cricket, acted in accordance with Articles 1.7.4.1 and 1.8.1 of the Code. (ICC)

What I don't understand is, how

will give you lesser sentence. Then all those players have to do is destroy evidence and they will get away with like 1 year sentence. If they actually confess, and cooperate with the investigation they will get like a 5 year ban. That is flawed logic. I know Sanath is doing a great job as coaching and not best time to point this out, but didn't he also get away with a lesser sentence because he used this trick of obstructing the evidence. I have no idea why Sana was involved, he seems like a true sri lankan patriot.

Sanath was banned for two years and it was not suspended for any period. Praveen has got away with a much lesser punishment.

Just don't understand why he didn't do the right thing after all the education they receive on this issue, which I think is periodically reinforced as well.
