Pathetic,is the exact word that defines the gameplay of Sri Lanka cricket at the moment.Lack of proper willingness to work together and the inability in luring the result in your way,has more or less killed the momentum going in to the world cup.Our plans have been petty.Is the absence of Malinga the sole reason for our downfall? Can't we think of our second generation to follow the footsteps of Malinga? What have we actually done to improve our fast bowling.Apart from Kulasekeara none of the other bowlers have the ability in creating a doubt in the opposition.Where does our batting lie.No proper batsman to partner Dilshan at the top,Kusal,Tharanga and Mahela were shortlisted for the position,but out of no where Dimuth is chosen in the final XV,solely based on his performances of 150+ in a test match against NZ.How would the team lookalike after the post WC?Have we groom the players?Chandimal,Thirimanne and Thissara each have played close to 100 ODIs,where do they stand in terms of players of other countries.Kohli is already a legend.Steve Smith is the best Aus batsman in Tests,despite starting his career as a leggie.Take a look at Kane Williamson.Where's the so called next generation of SL? This is where we really struggle.We really do need an extensive discussion on this.Lots to ponder.The WC seems so distant at the moment,we just don't play the middle overs of the game well,which is the most crucial part of the play,in both the disciplines.

Where does our premier league structure stands at the moment.Ravi today at the CSN discussion after the match emphasized that SL had the best under 19 side in the world during 1980s.That was why we won the 1996 WC.But today we even loose to the Bangaldesh side.Our standards have dropped,not a lot of quality players are coming through the current structure.

Mubarak,Kapugedera,Chamara Silva all were tiptoed to be the next generation of SL.Haven't we tried one too many off the likes of Sangakkara and Mahela??.I have always felt this,since 2007 this has always been the case

Someone has to fix the system (school and domestic). Quality of cricket in FC level is awful. Too many clubs, poor pitches, 3-day cricket, etc. We've been talking about this for a while...
