Kule and Malinga in tests seem too odd for my liking. Both were predominantly LOI bowlers.
Malinga was alright in Tests. Certainly better than Lakmal who had to play about 40 Tests to show improvement.

Mendis has rarely played at 5 or below anyway. He'a top order bat. Can consider Mendis if the position in question is 3/4. Both are ordinary down the order in LOI, but DDS averages 46 at 6 in Test cricket. 4 hundreds at 6/7. So I pick DDS if it's between these two. Bowling is a bonus.

Yeah. No need to make Sanga keep, especially in Tests when KJP is in the XI.

Options available are very ordinary. Yet to produce a good multi-format bat after Mathews. He played with naki Murali. That's how long it's been. Lack of talent is deafening.
