2) Pick the no.4 bat.

Is there an alternative? Can't see the point of having Prasanna J in an all format XI. I can see him at 7 in a Test XI.

Has to be Rangana Herath.Him and Murali at their peak, bowling in tandem should be a sight to behold. Actually Ajantha Mendis is an interesting option too. But Hera had longevity and batted better than Mendis. As crucial as Mendis was for us in ODIs, how can anyone forget Hera's heroic in 2014 WT20 against NZ which was a potential QF. Has to go with Herath for this one.
2) Pick the no.4 bat.
Ara or Mahela? Has to be Aravinda I suppose. Ara would have been the better T20I bat out of Sanga, Mahela and Ara I suppose.

I was thinking of Kusal Perera too.. but he doesn't keep enough in Tests.
Not so long ago a Pakistan all time Test XI was done by espncricinfo and they had Afridi opening the batting. lol.He had the second best test average for a Pakistan test opener after Anwar.

Re. Sanga and keeping I'd have him as pure bat and have Dilshan keep in Tests as someone suggested. In ODIs and T20s he's good enough to go at 3 for SL definitely better than batting down the order.
