Are you serious? Lmao. Two opposing factions suddenly put their differences aside? In Sri lanka?

I know it normally doesn't happen in SL but I guess it didn't happen suddenly.

RE: Football Thread - stillwill - 03-28-2024

Weird that they drafted few players from the Tamil Eelam Football Team. Like 3 guys are playing for SL now.

Tf seriously?? What happened? My dad said he used to play soccer and stuff all the time whne he was a kid but I read online that soccer isnt popular at all.

Soccer until late 90s was the most popular sport in North and East. My dad, his brothers, all male cousins and my mom's male siblings all played soccer. My dad said in 70s and early 80s when 2 good teams play, you'd easily get 3000-4000 people to come watch. Im trying to find some old vintage clips from those times. SL got test status around the time war escalated so most people in North and East didnt get to see SL team's rise. No one was even discussing cricket when I was young. Even now, most Tamil boomers born before 1975ish don't watch cricket. Cricket was also restricted to very few class of people. Athletics was much more popular.

^^^ This is what happens when your restraining order only limits you to browsing Wikipedia, Cricinfo and SLcricfans. Stay away from little boys.

They were called up
