Jeewan is handy - must have got for a low sum

Akhila is a good choice

Didn't Malinga perform in the last few matches in IPL? He could be useful when it's just 4 overs.

Definitely not fit enough for ODI cricket. Any other international side would have phased him out of ODI a couple of years ago.

Till 2012 - avg 25, econ 4.9
Since then - avg 33, econ 5.7

Quality ODI bowler for 6-7 years, but ordinary for too long after that.

Surely. keeping him out would have done him lot better.

He was good until that 2014 T20 final.

Since then we have played half fit Malinga most of the time. He was not even half fit in last WC, Same with last CT just because our management thought he was the only hope in bowling for both those tournaments. And then even played him in random zim series when he not even fully fit. Poor fellow should have being rested.

But he can't rest because people and media(even his own selectors will hint things like those in media Doh ) will come crying out that he is only playing for money. Such a pathetic environment was made in SL for players. Can't even take independent decisions without getting accused for shit.

RE: South Africa Global League - Bada - 08-28-2017

Ideally, he should have played only T20I from 2015. Decline in ODI started a long time ago. Team management should have phased him out of the format after talking to him.

RE: South Africa Global League - pj57 - 08-29-2017

Malinga is just one short of 300 ODI wickets. I have a feeling this might be his last ODI series. He should stick to t20 after that. He doesn't have the speed or the stamina to bowl 10 overs in a match. That said, it's nice to see him encourage and help the other fast bowlers during the match.

RE: South Africa T20 Global League - Bada - 10-07-2017

Cricket South Africa is preparing for a net loss of US $25 million (approx R342.58 million) from the inaugural edition of the T20 Global League, an amount that accounts for more than half its current cash reserves.

In its 2016-17 integrated report, CSA reported a bank balance of $47.8 million (approx R655.44 million) at the end of April but the costs of running the tournament with reduced revenue and stadium upgrades of $25.5 million (approx R350 million) spread over three years, means the glamour competition will initially cost much more money than anticipated.
